Hyundai really turned things around!

I'm sure you all remember about 10 years ago when Hyundai was always at the bottom of the reliability rankings, along with Kia, etc. It looks like they've really turned the company around!

What do you think contributed to their success?

I think that their pricing has a lot to do with it when you go up against competing lines. People's buying habits have changed and people are looking for deals.

The other thing not to forget is the fact that they did introduce that 100,000 mile warranty which made them an industry first and that translated to quality...to some.

I agree that their very competitive pricing and their 100K mile warranty had a lot to do with it. However, they seem to have built a high-quality product for a lower price than their competition. How are they able to do that, and why isn't the competition following suit?

I believe for a past few years Hyundai's been trying to implement Toyota's quality system and hiring people from TMS quality dept. My guess is they finally realized that quality is what keeps the customers...
