Used Prius - Above Sticker?

The NBC News reported that Used Prius' are selling for ABOVE their price when new. With rising gas prices, and the waitlist anywhere from 4-6 months, some buyers are paying $1000+ above sticker for a USED Prius.

Do you think this is reasonable?

Paying $1000 over sticker for a used Prius is ridiculous. For how long does the average american keep a vehicle? 3 - 5 years? Factoring that with how much you drive per year and how much money youre saving on gas, and you might end up losing money in the long run. Will the money you saved on gas outweigh the money spent on paying $1000 over sticker on a used car. I think not, unless you drive 3000 miles a month. Now if you believe you are doing your part to save the worlds natural resources then go right ahead.
