I think it's very interesting that GM has a blog for their executives. Everyone from Bob Lutz to Ed Welburn posts here.

I like the idea of having direct access to the minds of GM's execs. However, sometimes I wonder just how censored their blog is. I also wonder - is this REALLY Bob Lutz posting?

Does anyone read GM's blog? (http://fastlane.gmblogs.com/) What do you think?

I must wonder myself. It could be ghost written. I wish people like Bob Lutz responed to the feedback though.

But this is a step in the right direction.

Good point, Paul. It would be much better if they responded to the comments - I didn't even realize that until you mentioned it. I can understand that a blog is more of a 1-way conversation (as opposed to the forum idea, which is 2-way), but if they want to communicate with the public, I think responding to comments would be a great idea!

The more I read it, the more I think its just something put on by the PR Department. Lutz or anyone that posts there seem to "dance" around the real issues. Oh well, atleast is one more thing to get me fired up on!

If you have ever worked for a car company or know anything about the management environment then you may realize that GM management is not going to say or do anything to reveal what is really going on inside GM top mgt staff meeting this morning or to do anything "out-the-box". You do and you are end up in "strategic planning', the door out the back. There is a "line" that is not crossed.. Not even Lutz can pull it off.
