Last week I put the final touches on a demo site I started called AutoBurst. This is my first crack at creating the concept for a dealer blog. I had a few people look at it and provide some feedback and I am now ready to open it up for public scrutiny. Here’s the deal. While some of the information posted there could be considered proprietary, I am approaching this in an open-source fashion. I am throwing out a working concept that I am willing to prototype with dealers and I welcome you to do the same. I have produced a license and have even revealed some of it on the site. If you have a dealer you think would be interested in prototyping this let me know. I am happy to assist in any way I can.
The main setback I see to the concept presented in AutoBurst is the amount of time that would be required to make it fruitful for a dealer. This is where I think others in the industry come in to play. If you apply the concepts behind AutoBurst with a dealer you will quickly find it requires much work. But by doing so I suspect you will begin to conceive new ideas and tools that can be incorporated into AutoBurst to make it more of a streamlined product.
So have at it and please leave your feedback and questions here on this thread so we can take it to the next level. Again, consider this an open source project. I will continue to grow the idea and seek others that want to take part in the project, but for the time being I am approaching this from an open-source perspective.
