My question is
I have called two dealers about the life of the battery but they could not tell me.
2005 Ford SUV Escape Hybrid
I found some information and it states that it is 8 year or 100,000 miles, but once you have completed the battery warranty how munch will this battery $$$cost. one dealer told me $10,000???
Does anyone know.

I do not know about the replacement price for the Escape Hybrid, but the replacement price of the batteries for the Toyota Prius has been estimated at $3,000. I understand the limited factor in producing more hybrids is battery availability. Ford
can not build anywhere close to the demand for the Escape Hybrid because of
limited battery supplies.

I've heard somewhere around $2,000 - $3,000 as well. The 8 year, 100,000 mile warranty is good to know, but the battery replacement bill won't be fun. That more than offsets the income tax deduction!

I applaud consumers who are buying hybrids at this stage. They are early-adopters, and are taking some risks by purchasing these vehicles. Once the battery warranty is up, what if no manufacturer makes them anymore? What if they cost much more than anticipated? Not likely, but still possible.
