I just finished watching a couple of episodes of this show.

And, quite frankly, I don't know what to say......

Does a program like this improve or damage our image even more ?

One thing is for sure.........I couldn't work in such an unprofessional environment as Towbin Chrysler appears to be.

Hey Keith,

I must say that I watch the show on a regular basis. I worked for a dealer much like Towbin Dodge in the 80's and sold 17,000 to 18,000 units per year. Although the selling environment has changed over the years, many people like the excitement of what Chop offers. I can assure you that he is on "top" of his game. It's creative advertising at it's best. Where else but Las Vegas for the perfect setting for a high roller. I wonder what his turnover rate is for employees (excluding his regular staff of salespeople/actors)?

Ah.......turnover.......that is truly the only indicator of what a store is like....isn't it ?

Here in Calgary the local newspaper classifieds are full of ads from the same dealer groups that have 5-6-7 stores under their belts........whereas other stores NEVER seem to advertise. And personally knowing the owners of almost every dealership here, and having worked for some, I can understand this phenomenon.

I watch the show every week. Although I'm sure there is a lot of behind the scenes "hard sell", I do not find it unprofessional. As a working owner there can be a lot of down time between sales and it is very easy to become un-motivated. I think the key to his success is creating Fun, Excitement and most of all Motivation for both the Sales department and the Consumer. Getting both the Salesperson and the Consumer Excited (which by the way is very difficult these days!) at the same time leads to more profitability. Activity breeds Activity!
