2006 Los Angeles Auto Show - anyone going?

The 2006 LA Auto Show is coming up on Jan 6-15. Anyone going? What're you looking forward to seeing, and who are you looking forward to hearing? I personally am going to try to attend the Chris Bangle presentation. After all of the convtroversy he's created over his BMW designs, I think he'd be interesting to see.

I'm going to the main show, but I can't get tickets to the preview day. I've heard Bangle talk at Art Center and it only validated my dislike for his designs. He has successfully disconnected BMW from any of its historical legacy. He is designing the most forgettable cars that I can remember... I have nightmares about his cars.

The recent articles in the car magazines still haven't figured out whether they lioke him or not. That's surprising considerring that they are paid to pump up the Bangle Kool-Aid.

If you can get ahold of some press passes to the preview day, I would appreciate it.

I agree. I often mistake the new 3-series for an Acura or something like that.

About the Auto Show - they're pretty serious about their media days now. You first have to register (providing certain credentials), and then you have to check in at the show with your business card or something similar. The only reasons I like going are because there are far fewer people than the public days, and I have open access to all of the vehicles that are normally roped off.
