According to an article from the AP, General Motors and DaimlerChrysler have signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy to pursue over the next five years the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
GM plans to build 40 such vehicles, spening $44 million, DaimlerChrysler will spend $70 million, and the Department of Energy will spend another $44 million in the deal.
These vehicles will be distributed among large US cities (Washington, New York, California) to consumers who will offer their feedback on the performance of the vehicles.
