Anyone listening to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last Tuesday, September 20th were amazed by the comment of Matt LeBlanc when Leno asked him about his first car.

He said that it was a Nissan truck given to him by his father. He said he didn't like it because, as a youg boy, he wanted something to fix a lot. After a whail, he finally traded it in on a Chevrolet truck and was very happy fixing it all the time. Not good for GM.

Now, go to Thursday, September 22. GM sponsored the ENTIRE PROGRAM and all the ads were for the HHR. Although it is a really nice looking vehicle, GM must be losing a ton of money on each unit selling them for $15,000. The ads were kind of quirky but seemed effective.

Now, the big question. Why did GM sponsor the entire show? Did they try to get back some image? Did NBC pull a Mea Culpa on those comments? Or did GM pull another nasty with NBC like they did the Los Angeles Times? So far, no one is talking but credit has to go to NBC for not editing the clip out of the show which was taped earlier. Censorship should never be tolerated, especially since Leblanc's comments were from the heart, even if it made all the GM fans cringe.

We have to live with our Democracy, no matter how much it hurts. GM came out ahead on Thursday so lets call it a wash. Only a few people even caught on when the comment was made.

I didn't watch the show... but wow, that's funny! It's true, too. GM can run from their problems, but they can't hide.
