An investigation of the automakers, would find complicity with the first Bush administration, and Saudi Arabia, to increase the price of oil. Doing the period between the 70s gas scare, where President Carter, showed some big balls, to create the MPG standard, until the mass marketing of the SUV, the oil countries were out of extra money, and declining world influence. Gas got really cheap, so buying a gas guzzler, was a great marketing tool against this country for eventually, high profits..........thank you EXXON/Mobil, Ford, GM, Chrysler
And now, you think you now feel violated. When are you going to get really MAD?
I can say this because of many personal friends who went to Saudi Arabia, to work for their government, to develop oil sources, drilling, etc. for some nice bonus's, and bragged to everyone, that we were being set up, for big leaps in oil prices. The oil companies, their buddies, American automakers, maybe Dick Cheney, all new what was coming down.
What we lack in the public forum, and discussions, is a realty check on this, and the will to solve it, and not continuing to set around, whine, cry, and keep playing the victims card.
Hugh tax's on SUV's being sold, and on there ownership, will reverse this pathetic situation, and thats reality for you.
