How do you think Hurricane Katrina will impact the automotive industry both short- and long-term? Certainly the price of gasoline has been affected, and this will probably have a widespread impact on the auto industry.
Thoughts? Comments?

I thought I'd pass this along. Rick Post from Autobytel sent the following message to their member dealers:
Dear Valued Member Dealers:
As our hearts go out to those whose lives and livelihoods have been devastated by Hurricane Katrina, many of us are looking for ways to help – whether that means donating money, sharing crucial news and information, or helping to find employment, housing or other services for those affected.
To offer an outlet for this outpouring of goodwill among our member dealers and other dealers nationwide, Autobytel is hosting this Dealer Network Disaster Recovery Forum: http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/mb/autobytel.
The goal is to provide an online meeting place to discuss ways to help our fellow dealers, share news of how those in the impacted area are faring, and post helpful links, phone numbers and organizations that are providing aid (and soliciting contributions).
This is meant to be a dynamic, interactive forum, so we’ll be relying on you to make it work. We hope that you’ll take advantage of this resource to help our colleagues and others during this painful time.
Please do not hesitate to contact us to let us know how we can help.
Regards,
Rick Post
