I encourage everyone to accept the changes to the industry in stride and makes plans for the future......
First let me say that I feel like I work in the best industry in the world... (Automotive)
The Service Contract business is not what it used to be... Here of late I can't stop thinking about why dealer's continue to stress the importance of Service Contract Penetration. I definitly understand that we as dealers make money on the product and I dont question that. I question the dealers mind set re: the product and what It does for the dealership....
Years ago the product Would return customer's back to our dealer for service work. The times have changed dramatically though..

Manufactures give warranty coverages as if it was candy and there is nothing making the customer return to your service department for service.
I guess the point I am trying to make is that as dealers we need to be more concerned with keeping that customer forever and to do everything in our power to return the customer from sales to service back to sales.....

78% customers who did there service work with the dealer WOULD purchase another vehicle from that dealer....
