I thought this might interest some of you in the dealer (or advertising) business. This is a paper written by Tom Letizia from Automotive Marketing Group (www.automarketgroup.com (http://www.automarketgroup.com)). Enjoy!

Letizia says that price is of the utmost importance to consumers. While this is important, I must contest that as a consumer and recent buyer of a newer used vehicle from a dealership, I wasn't brought in by any promo or ad. I was brought in because they had the car I wanted, exactly. How did I know?

www.cars.com.

I highly recommend to dealerships the use of this site as well as autotrader.com. And when they use the site, to UPLOAD PICTURES, especially more than one.

Without any fancy creative, expensive media purchases or overblown promises of great prices and interest rates (which scream "red flag rip off" or "the sale doesn't pertain to the car you really want---ever"), these sites make your inventory known to people looking for that car.

Something to consider.
P.S. I do not work for either of the sites listed above. Just a consumer and advertising person's perspective.
