According to an article published in the Detroit News (http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosinsider/0507/01/D01-231667.htm), Ford plans to build 25 race-ready Mustangs. They'll have 400hp, and won't be street legal.

In my opinion, this price-point is very close to the Ford GT40, and at least that car is street legal (nevermind all of the recall problems).

I suppose since Ford is only planning on building 25 of these, they don't expect a huge market for them. Surprise!

the Ford GT isnt a race car, it has no roll cage, no fully adjustable suspension, Race cars dont usually have superchargers because superchargers aren’t meant to deliver multiple hours of boost, It doesn’t have the controls to shut off the fuel pumps(the GT has only 1 fuel pump, most race cars have alot of redundant systems) It doesn’t have an electric water pump or oil pump. The GT has AC....how many race cars have standard AC...not a whole lot. Although some Im sure do.
Does the Ford GT have Heim joints and suspension components made of exotic material?
That’s just the beginning of what you can expect the differences to be a specifically built race car is an awful lot different than a street car.
