Welcome to the forum!! By all means, feel free to contribute to every forum on here, and if you have suggestions for the site's layout, you can Private Message me or email me.
Quick question about InfoUSA - I am familiar with the company and what they do - but how exactly do you get all of the data? Where do names, addresses, email addresses, etc come from? If this is a trade secret, I understand.
Again, welcome to the forum!

My name is Randy Woehl. My company, TrifectaHR specializes in recruitment, placement and Human resource compliance in small to medium sized businesses with an emphasis in the automobile industry. I have 10 plus years Human Resource experience in a Fortune 500 retail company and am well versed on HR laws and regulations.
I am still learning about the automotive industry. What I have found is that many dealerships are putting themselves at risk for employee lawsuits because they do not have the time nor the expertise to deal with HR issues. This is certainly one of the reasons I started this business. I truly want to assist dealerships in handling the employee issues so they do not throw away their profits on frivilous lawsuits. More and more attorneys are targeting the auto industry because they know how much money dealerships make and also know that they do not comply with many of the HR rules and regulations.
I am not an attorney, but I can offer some advice on employee relations issues. (I have a toll free number 866-top-jobz) State laws vary, so check with an attorney in your state before you proceed with any action toward an employee.
I find that most lawsuits could be avoided if managers deal with the problems when they are small. If an employee complains about being harassed by another employee, drop what you are doing and deal with the issue today! If you need advice on what to do and how to do it, find an HR consultant that can guide you through the process.
When recruiting and hiring--follow proper interviewing techniques. Do not ask questions that are illegal--marital status, kids, religion etc. All these can get you in trouble with the EEOC.
If you want to visit or learn more about my company go to the website at www.trifectahr.com or call my toll free number listed above. I have plenty of experience in HR--I joined this forum to learn more about the automotive industry.

Hi all, my name is Kristi, and I am a copywriter working in Advertising. I write billboards, web banners, magazine ads...just about anything created with the purpose of persuading readers to react in a way specified by my clients.
Right now I am working with such clients as ESPN Zone, DirectTV and this forum's good friend, AutomotiveDigest.com. At AD.com, I'm working to improve the effectiveness of web banners.
Anyways, it seems like there's some good stuff going on in this forum, so I look forward to becoming more involved.

My name's Mark Williams, and I run a small but perfectly formed training and coaching consultancy, here in the UK. I have 25 years' experience in the industry and run a series of very different style programs for dealers who want to tap into their potential by utilising all that their staff can give them. Too often we make excuses about why we didn't make the sale or why our customers need training in how to deal with us! Personally, I feel we have so many opportunities to show how and why customers should be loyal to us, so I consult with dealers about how to make the best out of every opportunity. We cover such subjects as "NLP at Work", "Train your Customer", "Take responsibility for your own Self-motivation" and "How to get the best performance possible out of your team".
The industry is tough in the UK - so much competition for each franchise and so little profits to reinvest. However, the great dealers are making money. So I help them identify what they are doing right and encourage them to do more of it! After working at management level in a dealership, I'm now happy to share my experience and passion for improvement with those dealers who want to be even better than they already are. Best wishes to all members at Auto Industry Forum.

Welcome to the forum Mark! I think the business you're in is definintely necessary at this time. Just look at the "Rants and Raves" forum here, and you'll see someone complaining about a dealership here in the U.S. I'm sure it's no different in the UK. Best of luck to you - please feel free to contribute anywhere on the forum, and hopefully you'll be able to make some great contacts along the way.
Thanks again, and welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yeah I too would love to contribute about the auto industry of our country. Please could you guide me in which section shall I post about it.
Sure! I've restructured the forum to have a "friendlier" setup. There are primarily 3 forums you can post in - "The Latest Buzz," "Rants and Raves," and "General Auto Industry Forum."
If you want to post something that is getting a lot of attention, post it in The Latest Buzz. If you want to "spill your guts" or complain about something (or conversely, say great things), please post that in "Rants and Raves." Finally, if you want to post ANYTHING at all that doesn't fit in those sections, post it in the "General Auto Industry Forum".
I hope that answers your question - thanks in advance!

Hi James - welcome to Auto Industry Forum! My background is in IT as well (MS in Computer Science). It might be beneficial if you modify your profile (User Controls at the top left.. then Edit Profile) so people will be able to see where you are located, etc.
As far as taking classes in these areas, have you checked out your local community college? I'd bet they have some inexpensive courses that would be perfect.
Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

Hi All
I am looking for some help
I am an experienced Sales Director with a successful track record in the automotive component supply industry in terms of winning and delivering profitable new business and maximising revenues from existing customers.
The Group I worked for enjoyed significant growth in an increasingly competitive environment and I played a major part in that process with regard to planning and strategic development.
As a result of a major re-organisation my job was made redundant at the end of last year and I am seeking a similar position in the Automotive or wider Engineering sector but also believe my skills and experience would provide a good match for a smaller engineering company looking to recruit a General Manager/Managing Director.
I look forward to further discussion should any opportunity arise.

Hi Art, my firm offers Money Back Guaranty programs for companies that sell or list vehicles on the internet. I'm quite certain that AutoTrader.com would be interested. In fact, the parent company uses our Buyback Guaranty program at their Auction Sites.
Drop me a line.

Not sure if you're familiar with the Private Message feature... but if you click on a member's name, and go down to "Send a Private Message", you can send a message to anyone that only they can see (and they'll get an email notice telling them they have a private message!). Feel free to post in the main forum, but a Private Message might get his attention.
I'd love to see this result in some business happening between the two of you - that's what the forum is all about!

Do you have access to anyone currently in a management position? Maybe you could ask them some questions and find out what it is they're looking for? Don't give up... it sounds like you have plenty of experience!
