Hi All,
I am the VP of Sales for a large auto parts distributor in California. I run the wholesale division and currently have eleven outside sales team members. Our customer base is installers, municipalities, dealerships, fleets, etc. Some of the challenges that I come across in my business, is going up against the dealerships. In the old days, dealers were much more expensive, and we all sell the same parts! I have found dealerships to be much more agressive now. Echlin, Wells, Visteon, Wagner, Bendix, etc...they are just in a different box. So I thought I would use this forum to bounce ideas off of you folks.
We all have employees, or lack of, how do you find good quality employees, how do you keep them?
Compenstaion ideas, maybe a bit more creative. My team is paid purely on gross profit of sold parts less aged accounts. Maybe you have a better compensation plan, that will be more condusive to selling more.
All your input is appreciated.
Thank you!
