I just want to know that there's somebody else out there who has the utmost confidence that General Motors will continue to be the best-selling brand of automobiles.

One of our members, Jon LeSage, believes GM will overcome this just as they have in the past many times.

I am confident GM will be a leader in sales for a number of years to come. That doesn't mean that they will be that way for the next 50+ years but for at least the next 15-20 years I think GM will retain its sale lead annually. I wouldn't be surprised that once the Chinese get their quality issues solved and they taylor their products to US tastes they will be a force to be reckoned with. The Japanese and the Americans will be at a huge disadvantage both from a labor cost stand point and from the Chinese building cars on such a huge economy of scale, GM and everyone else will be in a serious disadvantage. In the next few years their will be a few Chinese brands that will be arriving on these shores and its going to be a slow but steady move to increase their presents and they will move slow and deliberately getting sales just like the Koreans and the Japanese have.
