An interesting Query - Cosigned with an Ex

So, I made a big mistake and bought a car with my ex. To be more specific, my father co-signed for the loan. Anyway, when we broke up, she said she was going to pay for the car. I was okay with that. Unfortunatly, she has missed some payments of late. 4 in the last 6 months. She is currently paid up now, but there is only 1500 left on the loan. It has messed with my credit and my fathers. My father asked that I take the car back from her.
My question is, does she have any legal right to the car? She has made all the payments for the last 4.5 years. Can she take me to court? Any help in this matter would greatly be appricated.

Sorry to hear. I'm not an attorney or anything, but who's name is on the title? Some states have AND/OR titles - is your state one of those? In other words, if the title has your fathers name, OR your ex's name... I believe he can take the car and sell it. If it has AND, then your ex would have to be involved as well. I'd find a lawyer if I were you.
